Christmas Mini Session

I photographed these two a few years ago and, I know I say this often, but wow, how they’ve grown!!! It was so much fun to see them and get to play in my studio and let their personalities shine! We had fun - sis was into all my Christmas gear and we let her have at it!

I think this is going to be a top fav for some time!

Run to Feed the Hungry 2009

This was my first time doing this and I’ll definitely be back next year! So much fun to see so many people gathered for such a great cause in the early am hours of Thanksgiving day. I have to say too, it totally beats bumming around Thanksgiving morning because when the meal arrives later, ya don’t feel so bad chowing down!! LOL

here’s me with the peeps (Alicia, Darcie & Debbie and moi!) and oh yeah, that would be a BURN mark on my forehead!!! thank you curling iron. :(

here’s the girls struttin their stuff in the gorgeous fall colors! that’s it - next year fall sessions to take place at Sac State! I’ve found the goods!! (fall colors).

Thankful

Thankful…

  • For California sun that warms me even on the coldest day.
  • For my family and the unconditional love that keeps me feeling safe and centered even when my world feels out of control.
  • For my babies who have taught me the true meaning of love – a love greater, deeper, more soul searing than anything I could ever have fathomed. And who teach me more about myself everyday and the person I want to be for them, for myself, for my family.
  • For the blessing of forgiveness and the gift of starting each day new.
  • For a body that, even though I call it all kinds of names and constantly compare it to the cellulite free bodies staring back at me from magainzes…carries me wherever I need to go, stays strong for me even when I push it far beyond it’s limit, allows me to lift, hug and soothe my babies and generally do whatever I ask of it…
  • For friends new and old who continually teach me the true meaning of friendship, who are there in my loneliest days just to listen and love, who let me vent and ramble without end, who mean more to me than they could ever know.
  • For God who loves us all without stipulation.
  • For a country that is free and full opportunity and dreams fulfilled if we just believe, work hard enough and stay positive and optimistic.
  • For a roof, for heat, for clean water, for a refrigerator stocked with food.
  • For clients who entrust me with capturing the people they love and creating memories for a lifetime. For clients who fuel this crazy dream of mine. For clients who have blessed my life with their presence, who I consider more friend than client, who make me smile every time I see them.
  • Last, but not least, Starbucks! Just Starbucks. Coffee, company, all of it!

Wishing you all a beautiful, warm, love-filled Thanksgiving!

And speaking of that gorgeous Cali sun…

Family Session

I think we picked the windiest day possible for this session but we prevailed and it was fun as it always is with this beautiful, sweet, giving family. You see, this is also the owner of my twins preschool. It’s also where my older daughter attended prior to kindergarten and to me, it’s almost like another home. I love the preschool. I love the kids. I love the people (mother/daughter team - daughter seen here) who run it because they run it with all heart, magical teaching skills and kindess that reaches past the students to parents and family. I say this to them all the time but for public record, I do not know what I’d do without them. And being that we’re headed into a day of thanksgiving, I’ll just say - I’m so, so thankful my life crossed into their preschool so my kids could know the beauty and wonder of learning in such a loving environment. And I’m so thankful to know and be continually inspired by two such giving, strong, amazing women.

I lovveeeee this one!

Kidz Club Member Session

This little guy has warmed my heart from the first time I met him. He has the most open, sweetest smile and a personality to match. I always look forward to seeing him - and his mom because we do great mom talk. Rather, I soak up all her good knowledge when I see her - I love the way she looks at parenting and we agree on so many things. It’s always a fun session all the way around and this time was no exception. Thanks A and M for a great morning!

no, I’m not cruel and I don’t encourage crying in the studio! but little man here had a tiny melt down at the end that resulted in a few tears…I asked mom for permission before taking this picture and even though it’s a sad face, I think it’s kind of a cute face…
